As a skilled digital worker, there are problems of the refugee crisis that only you can solve. With Prosper, you can volunteer your time online while keeping your day job and make an impact in the lives of refugees in Europe.
The power of design and technology has placed digital workers in a
unique position for humanitarian crises—the refugee crisis in
particular. If you have skills, passion and experience you can solve
real problems for real people amidst the crisis and have fun alongside a
community of passionate professionals.
Whether you're able to offer an hour a week or ten—we make it easy for
skilled digital workers to contribute to refugee crisis projects.
We have immediate need in the following disciplines:
- Human-Centered / User Experience Design
- Web Development & Architecture
- Data Science & Mining
- Ethnography & User Research
- Agile Project Management
- Social Media & Digital Marketing
*If your skillset isn't listed above and you'd like to get involved,
please contact us. The need for passionate professionals with relevant
skills is immense. We enjoy matching skilled workers with meaningful
projects that make a significant impact on helping the refugee crisis.
How Does It Work?
We've worked hard to make sure that our volunteers can easily contribute
to meaningful projects of the refugee crisis no matter where they are in
the world. Here's the basic outline of the process:
1. request to volunteer
If you're a skilled digital worker interested in volunteering on
Prosper Projects, please provide us with your details in the form below.
2. wait for us to review your request
One of our Prosper Community members will review your request and
follow-up with you if we think it would be a good fit for us to work
3. receive an invite
If we think its a good fit for us to work together, we'll send you an
invite to join our team. We use
Trello to manage projects and Slack to communicate in real-time. Other than that, we have weekly stand-ups for project teams
and monthly hangouts as a community.
4. contribute, learn, share (repeat)
We do our best to help volunteers contribute to a Prosper
Project within their first week of joining the community.
Hopefully you'll have learned something from contributing and can share
what you've learned with the community. Given most of our tasks are
broken into their smallest possible parts, you should be able to
contribute easily whilst holding down your day job.
